This site is dedicated
to my grandmother, Rosalind Burkett Deaderick, namesake to
my daughter, Rosalind Tupelo Deaderick Layman. She was a big
fan of family history. As a Bronx-raised Yankee, she had to work
especially hard at learning this Deaderick family history when
she married my Alabama-born Grandpa, Alfred Von Albade Deaderick.
In the South, they'll introduce to "your fourth cousin, twice
removed" and expect you to know what that means.
I have some mixed feelings about this Deaderick history.
While there is much to admire, it's hard for me, especially
as a Yankee myself, to completely embrace my Confederate
forebearers.

At
the same time, I'm sure they might have had some trouble
embracing some of my actions, right as I think they are.
I understand that it's a little weird that everyone is male on this site. I had to be self-limiting, for time reasons, but I will add more as time goes on. I swear!
Kin is kin. Here are some of mine.
